So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past -

Quoth the Raven

Quoth the Raven
The rhythm and style of this poem make me just want to write, anything. I think the first time I read it was for an assignment in 5th grade. Now I read it from a book I picked up from a garage sale - best read by lamplight, and even better if you can get your hands on a candle. Even though the raven says nevermore, I continue to read it.

I can never seem to acquire enough boots and or booties. Pair that with a leather purse and some cute trim and I'm sold. That's what I dream about, so include a dream catcher for good measure, and remember, all good things are wild and free! (:

Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow
This set needs something. Not quite sure what. Here's a poem about willows to make up for it.

Weeping Willow

The lonely branches
Drift in the breeze
like heartfelt dances
desperate pleas

The sad willow weeps
A quiet song
Against its will keeps
Prospering strong

It sees everything
with green sad eyes
pain and heartbreak bring
beautiful sighs

Willow, why are you
Weeping for our sin
Realizing it's true
Consciences are thin

Willow, willow why
are you weeping
Willow, willow why
are you keeping

Desperate,
strong
Beautiful
long
thin track
of the fact
our consciences
are weeping

Girl With the Red Balloon
Eh, not quite like how I wanted it to turn out - I wanted it to be more eerie;

the song makes me think of a party after all the people have gone home. The chairs are empty where people once sat, talked. Music skips somewhere in the distance on an old broken record. And out of the corner of your eye, you catch a glimpse of her - the girl who's always and never alone. The girl with the red balloon.

Designer for a Day - Vintage
I have an addiction to anything earth tone, but really my heart lies with vintage pieces. Vintage and earth tone? Sign me up. As you can probably see, I can't resist little details...vintage, details, earthy hues - that's how I'd spend a day in the fashion world.

I tend to add too many details. Oh well - as they say, whatever floats your boat!! Get it? A little boat humor for you ;]

I admit that underneath my cynical shell, I am at heart a sentimentalist. So I have few qualms to admitting this is my favorite set that I've ever made; I think I must have been feeling particularly inspired. Here's looking at making more like this, kid.
